Cookie Policy
What information the website stores or reads on your device, and which tools it uses.
At a glance
- The website does not use profiling or advertising cookies and, until you start filling in a form, does not store cookies or other data in your browser.
- The forms on the Contact and Careers pages use Cloudflare Turnstile against spam: it starts only when you begin filling them in and stores two technical items in your browser, no cookies.
- Only if Cloudflare’s protection system asks for a check does your browser receive a technical security cookie.
- We currently don’t show a banner: we explain why below.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser to remember information, such as a preference or a login. Similar technologies include the browser’s local storage and session storage, tracking pixels, scripts that read information from your device and fingerprinting, which recognises a device from its technical characteristics.
The law distinguishes technical tools, needed to provide a service you have requested, from those used for other purposes, such as profiling or advertising, which require your prior consent (Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code and the Italian Data Protection Authority’s guidelines of 10 June 2021). Analytics tools can be treated as technical tools only under certain conditions.
What the website uses
Browsing
We checked every page of the website on 15 October 2026, in the version intended for publication, and again on 20 October 2026 on the live website, including interactive content such as the 3D symbol on the home page, the menu and the language switch. While you browse, the website sets no cookies and, until you start filling in one of the forms described below, stores no data in your browser (no local storage, session storage, IndexedDB or service workers); fonts, images and 3D models come from our own domain, with no external videos, maps or social buttons.
The language depends on the page address, and animations follow your device’s accessibility settings, such as “Reduce motion”: no preference is stored. Your browser may keep a copy of the website’s files in its cache to load them faster: this is a browser feature, which you can manage in its settings, and it is not used to recognise you.
Form protection: Cloudflare Turnstile
Only on the Contact and Careers pages we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which loads a script and a small verification widget from Cloudflare’s servers and analyses some technical signals from your browser and connection, such as IP address, TLS fingerprint, user agent and the referring website, to tell people apart from automated programs. According to Cloudflare, these signals are strictly necessary for the check and are not used to identify, profile or track people (Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy addendum).
On 20 October 2026 we checked the real widget on the live website, starting from a browser with no stored data, both with a passed and with a failed check. Turnstile sets no cookies. It loads only when you first interact with the form, for example when you select a field, and from then on its widget (served from challenges.cloudflare.com) stores two technical items in your browser:
- cf.turnstile.u (local storage): a code generated by Cloudflare, with its creation date and a signature, which does not contain what you type in the form. It is part of the Turnstile check; Cloudflare does not publish a specific description of this item. It has no expiry: it stays in your browser, and is reused the next times you use the forms, until you clear site data.
- a one-byte file in the browser’s file storage (Origin Private File System; on 20 October 2026 it is named “xPbuD2”), with no informational content, created by the verification script. It stays until you clear site data.
Website protection: the cf_clearance cookie
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and automated traffic. If a request looks suspicious, Cloudflare may show a short verification page: only in that case, once the check is passed, your browser receives the technical cookie cf_clearance, which avoids repeating the check on every page. In our Cloudflare account settings, a passed check stays valid for 30 minutes (“Challenge Passage” setting); the expiry date your browser records for the cookie is set by Cloudflare and may differ, and you can delete the cookie at any time in your browser settings. We do not enable other Cloudflare features that store cookies in your browser, such as Bot Fight Mode or Turnstile pre-clearance.
Consent and banner
We consider Turnstile, including the two items it stores in your browser, and the cf_clearance cookie technical: they serve the security of the website and the forms and are not used for other purposes. Turnstile loads only when you start filling in one of the two forms, to protect the submission you are preparing; if you prefer not to use it, you can email us instead. For this reason we currently don’t ask for consent and don’t show a banner. We do not use any visit statistics tool.
If we ever introduce tools that require consent, we will ask for it before using them and update this page.
How to manage cookies and site data
You can check, block or delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. Blocking Turnstile, however, prevents the forms from being sent: in that case you can email us.
Updates and contact
We will update this page before introducing any new tool that stores or reads information on your device. For questions, write to support@offquantumstudios.com; to find out how we handle personal data, read our Privacy Policy.
